My Classroom

Welcome to my classroom! Hopefully this will give you a better idea of where I spend my time. When I started thinking about what I wanted my classroom to look like, I knew that I wanted it to be a space where not only I felt comfortable, but my students as well. I started in one direction and ended in another...one that I love and am happy with. I can't wait to fill up the walls with student work and our future instagram wall!

This is our "Class Rules & Expectations" board. Our journal entry on Friday was "What do you expect this year from your classroom, your teacher, and your classmates?" These are the things they came up with and wrote out. I think it's incredible! Just hope I can live up to the amazing and fun teacher one.

I've had this never give up sign hanging in my room but thought it would be much more appreciated and used in the classroom. He hangs right by the door so the kids can't miss it when they leave at the end of the day. I love the constant reminder to work hard as well as the reminders of my wonderful family across the globe.

I created vinyl lettering nametags in pink and green for each student. They loved them! And I do too. I am sure they will only last another week or two before their little fingers start picking them off, but for now they look great. By the time they pick them off I will know their names and we wont need them anymore anyways.

This is our job board as well as our calendar. I got the artwork on the left at Hobby Lobby and the colors work perfectly. There is also a cute little box tops jar (an old clorox wipes container with a cute label). This is right about my bookcases. I also have my QR scan code and test sign up poster on the bookcase. We're also going to start doing the word of the week.

My desk! I knew I needed a space that felt all my own. So of course I brought in class jars, ribbon, and desk accessories to fill them. I had to buy that cute chameleon tape dispenser. It's pretty much the cutest thing ever. I love my desk, I love sitting there, and the kids love the treats. Luckily I make them work really hard to even earn one!

So much storage! Those cubbies are where they put their bookbags. They are out of the way!

Masterpiece board and desk view. Those frames are made from glitter paper and have a page protector behind them. When students do above par work, I put it in the page protector so everyone knows that they are being praised for going above and beyond. It looks like a muppet burlesque, but I still love it!

This is our six traits of writing board. The A-frame white board is where we show our spot light students. I'm featured this first week. I created those flowers on the side with simple lined paper and scrapbook spray ink. Took a few hours but happy how it turned out.

My GIANT bunting banner. Seriously....this thing is like 30 feet long, if not longer. But I love it! My sweet mom helped with the triangles so that it would be ready for Back to School Night. It creates such a warm, homey, welcoming feeling! It's for sure staying up all year.

Our door. I created their door name tags with a free Project Life printable and then added their names in Picassa. Of course I had Persnickety Prints complete the order and I love how they turned out. With some cute washi tape they now welcome the students to class.

Books! So happy I was able to get a bunch this summer at garage sales, donations, and book sales. The kids have already rifled through most of them!

And of course I needed balloons for the Back to School Night. School started the very next day (a Wednesday) and they still look this good five days later. Love how cheerful and fun they are!
